LOCALIZED FAT LOSS: a controlled clinical study

By Paolo Luzi, Massimo Spattini University of Milan – Interfaculty Agriculture / Medicine and Surgery Our morphological constitution is the result of all the morphological features which are linked to genetics and epigenetics, that is, the influence of the external environment on the appearance of certain predispositions. Accordingly, every person can be classified according to

ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE BASED ON THE CHRONORMORPHOLOGICAL CLOCK

A recent study by the University of Birmingham published in the magazine Current Biology observed that athletic performance can have a 26% variation in the course of the day. The study concerned 20 hockey players and it evaluated cardiovascular resistance during various moments of the day, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The results showed

SPOT REDUCTION AND BODY TEMPERATURE

In my recent research on spot reduction I came across an article by dr. Lonnie Lowery. In this article, dated 2nd January 2011, the American doctor explains the scientific reasons and the practical applications to achieve localized loss of weight. Special emphasis is given to blood circulation and the body temperature of the critical areas.

CARBS AT DINNER TO LOSE WEIGHT

A myth which is quite widespread also in bodybuilding is that, in order to lose weight, you should not consume carbohydrates for dinner. Some say after 6pm, some say after 2pm. The origin of this “dogma” is unknown, perhaps it is connected to proverbs coming from conventional wisdom such as “eat like a king for

The COM diet

WE ARE BORN AS WE ARE, WE BECOME AS WE EAT, AS WE MOVE, AS WE BREATHE, AS WE THINK!

The COM diet (an acronym for the italian CronOrMorfo dieta) is an integrated approach that takes the Chronobiology of Hormones and the Morphology of human beings into account. We are not all the same, and finding the right diet and type of physical exercise for each of us is essential for achieving good health. Certain morphologies or body shapes are linked to specific character traits. All of which, as we all know, is related to genetics, which influences our development according to our predispositions. Yet we also know now that epigenetics (namely the influence of the external environment) plays a key role in allowing certain predispositions to manifest themselves:

The COM diet takes into account the morphology of individual (apple, pear or bell pepper shaped) which corresponds with the prevalence of specific hormones. The influence these hormones have on fat distribution can, in part, be controlled and modified by the choice of foods in terms of quality, quantity and chronology. As a result, localized fat loss is promoted.

The Spot Reduction is a method of training that consist in stimulate adequately the muscles underlying the accumulation of fat in order to promote the circulatory flow and lipolysis in adipose tissue. As a result of the localized fat loss is promoted.

Combining togheder, COM diet and Spot Reduction, you will lose fat where you want, how you want.

HYPERLIPOGENETIC

The individual hyperlipogenetic anticipates a imbalance of the axis pituitary gland-surrene and consequent imbalance insulin. The typical hyperlipogenetic, when it is overweight, has a stocky aspect with accumulates, like already said …

HYPERMIXED

The hypermixed biotype, or classical mixed biotype, is an individual that morphologically accumulates fat both in the upper and the lower part of the body. This biotype corresponds with the bilious type described by Hippocrates.

HYPOLIPOLYTIC

The Hypolipolytic people have the typical “pear-shaped” body with fat accumulation in the lower part of the body. This individual has a slow metabolism where the prevailing system is the parasympathetic system, an insulin stimulator.

HYPOMIXED

The other subtype of the mixed biotype is the hypomixed. The classic mixed individual (hypermixed), due to an unbalanced diet with excessive carbohydrates, eventually starts suffering from hypothyroidism as the thyroid …
